Congratulations to our winning conservation partners!

Recently Healthy Planet held a competition between our 15 conservation partners. Their mission was to spread the environmental message that Healthy Planet promotes to their supporters across the world. We are pleased to announce the two winning contestants who, in return for their enthusiasm and dedication in spreading the word, will receive grants towards their important conservation work.

Plant a Tree Today Foundation (PATT) won the winning £5000 grant

PATT is one of our original project partners; they seek to restore forest land to its former glory after years of illegal encroachment.

Healthy Planet supporters have funded a tree nursery, the planting of new seedlings and teacher training for educational visits from local schools in Khao Yai National Park, Thailand. Following on from this success, supporters are now able to adopt plots at a brand new PATT project in Mae Na Park, northern Thailand. They aim to plant 150,000 native trees within the park in 3 years, so they urgently need your help to support the re-forestation of a forgotten paradise.

The Monarch Butterfly Fund were in second place, winning a £2500 grant

The Monarch Butterfly Fund is a US-based organisation that partners with the charity Alternare. The aim of the project is to protect the breeding habitat of the beautiful Monarch Butterfly species found in Mexico. This is done through reforestation techniques and establishing an eco-tourism trade to encourage the protection of the local habitat.

We are delighted to be providing additional support to these exceptional organisations. If you would like us to consider your organisation as a new partner please email

If you would like to support any of our project partners you can adopt a plot on the Healthy Planet website

John Brookes speaking at the Ideal Home Show

“The ideal homes show has been a really great event for us; we’ve had lots of footfall, with many visitors interested in what we do, especially our Books for Free and Adopt a Plot projects. Considering the exhibition is not environmentally focused it’s been great that people have come up to the stand wanting to chat about what we do.

Perhaps it helped that we were giving away free Basil seeds, but people generally seemed really interested in what we’re doing, with lots of visitors wanting to donate books or asking about how to get involved; either through volunteering or using our empty spaces for their own green initiatives. So hopefully from talking to people on the stand we can help make some great ideas happen!

So it’s been a really positive event for the charity and we feel really lucky to have been given the opportunity to exhibit for free by the Ideal Homes Show.”

Richmond Park needs our help!

Formed in 1637 by Charles I for hunting deer, Richmond Park is now a National Nature Reserve and London’s largest site of Special Scientific Interest. This is because the park is home to many ancient trees, which are of great importance to wildlife; as the trees and their decaying wood supports many endangered species of insect and fungi.

The park is still recognised for its deer. Unfortunately many of the park’s 130,000 trees, including those that provide food for the deer populations, are now under threat from disease and climate change. Both native and climate-resistant tree species are desperately needed to encourage regrowth and biodiversity.

That’s why Healthy Planet is working in association with Friends of Richmond Park to protect this historic area, and we need your help!

As well as our supporting the work of our conservation partners around the world, you can adopt a plot online to support conservation on our doorstep in London. Find out more and adopt a plot in Richmond Park on the Healthy Planet website.

Or you could come and find out more about our award winning Adopt a Plot Project by visiting Healthy Planet at the Ideal Home Show. We are located on Princes Avenue, at Stand 1H93 and will be there until 1 April. To find out what we are up to and how you can get a 10% discount for the show please read our previous blog. It would be great to see you there!

Healthy Planet is always an ideal home for those seeking to make an environmental difference and have been given a great opportunity to showcase ideal environmental solutions too; which you can see at the Ideal Home Show this weekend at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre.

Healthy Planet will be planted next door to the Swedish House exhibit, on Princes Avenue. The Swedish House presents functional, well designed interiors that also offer great energy efficient solutions; creating a perfect example of how to produce innovative and sustainable ways of living.

The Ideal Home Show is starting Friday 16th March and running till 1st April. With 270,000 visitors expected here at Healthy Planet we are incredibly excited to have been invited to exhibit; thanks to our innovative green take on consumerism (Books for Free) and our award winning online support for conservation projects (Adopt a Plot).

To highlight the Adopt a Plot initiative Healthy Planet will be giving away promotional seed packs and screening our specially-made Healthy Planet film to highlight the projects.
