This weekend is the World Wildlife Federation’s Earth hour in which the WWF invite everyone to join them in turning off their lights for one hour, on the same night, all across the planet.
It is a simple idea that has turned into a global phenomenon, with hundreds of millions of people taking part each year. The WWF say the event is not just to save an hour of electricity, but a way for people to come together and think about the brilliant world we live in. It also highlights how our planet needs to be protected, not just for an hour but every day.
Earth Hour reminds us how much we depend on the planet for everything; from food to fresh air and to the uncomfortable truth that our modern lifestyles are taking a toll on the planet.
So here at Healthy Planet we’ll switching off our lights and getting the candles out. We encourage you to do the same! To find out more ways to get involved visit the WWF Website.
